The Aktiv Assekuranz Makler GmbH,munich, as an international insurance broker presents at the FIATA WORLD CONGRESS a new insurance policy: the MULIMODAL-COVER

Aktiv Assekuranz works with a long experience of over 19 years as an insurance specialist for the freight and traffic business. Aktiv Assekuranz does not sell insurance only, over 60 of our employees are working day by day at the claim adjustment, fit out with high authority of insurance copanies.

The "Multimodal-Cover" policy is the development out of our EURO-LIABILITY-POLICY,created for the opened European market in 1992.

In May 1996 at the ALACAT CONGRESS in Buenos Aires, Aktiv Assekuranz attended with its Latin American office at an own booth, where the wording of this policy was discussed and later accepted by the board of the ALACAT ASSOCIATION. The insurance cover contains the freight agent's liability at the international carriage by air as he was claimed as a contract carrier. Furthermore the insurers pay claims out of the agreement of the WA (Warsaw Agreement),but if the policyholder is liable to the rules of carriage by air,the regulations of the WA will not be applicable.

The agents liability out of the FBL (FIATA Combined Transport Bill Of Lading) is also included in this insurance cover, which is normally valid for the international combined transport. Here we are in a position to insure claims applying to the rules of FBL, if the policyholder could not successfully rely on the exclusion of liability mentioned in the document.

As an important part of our "Multimodal-Cover" Policy this cover contains the payments of costs for the defense of unjustified claims. So We are able to point out, that our cover includes a legal expense insurance, necessary mostly for imported freight.

The premium is very low calculated and charged to the monthly freight turnover or the numbers of containers per month.
